Luncheon Presentation Reaching peaks, managing valleys. How one sales manager managed a large sales organization through adversity. Chris Cockerill, SVP of Sales for Clear Channel Outdoor. Prospecting for new business, handling account turnover, managing a large sales staff that needs to hit the pavement every day. Media sales, like all sales has highs and lows. How does a sales manager in the market's top media company handle the ups/downs and staffing challenges in a large sales organization? Join us to hear Chris Cockerill, Vice President/Sales Manager, Clear Channel Outdoor Minnesota as he describes how the downturn affected his organization, what he did to help his sales staff weather the storm, and how Clear Channel is gearing up for the next wave of success. Chris Cockerill has been VP-Sales Manager for Clear Channel Outdoor Minnesota for the past four years. Career assignments including Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Phoenix, and Chicago have moved his family around the country as Chris sold the medium and served as sales manager since 1983. He was recruited into the custom tradeshow exhibit business in 1995, and came back to the ad medium he loves best in 2001. Training sellers is an aspect of his job he particularly enjoys. Chris and his wife, Mary, have 4 children ranging in age from 9 to 14. When he's not thinking about outdoor advertising, Chris enjoys golfing, playing guitar, and traveling with his family.
